Living the Eucharistic Day

Eucharistic Day is a day lived by a Eucharistic youth in which Jesus is the Sun, the center of the day. Beside the main "three moments of the day", the hours of the Eucharistic Day are marked with prayer, spiritual communion, sacrifice, apostolic works, rosary, etc.

ULTIMATE GOAL: Everyone is called to be holy. As such, a Eucharistic youth's ultimate goal is sainthood. To be holy is:

• To be separated - In the world but not belonging to the world.
• To be a Christian - Have Christ, belong to Christ, becoming like Christ.
• To be consecrated - Offer our life to do the will of God.
  
  

SPIRITUALITY: The EYM spirituality is Living the Eucharistic Day, which is to live in close union with God, especially with Jesus in the Eucharist, the center of our life. Living the Eucharistic Day is important to EYM's members because it helps the members becoming holier each day.

LIVING the EUCHARISTIC DAY: There are 3 main parts of the Eucharistic Day, often called "Three Moments of the Day":

1. The Beginning - Begin your day with a MORNING OFFERING, as Jesus is the Sunrise.

2. The Summit - Attend (or be in communion with) the HOLY MASS and receive the HOLY COMMUNION. This portion is the summit or zenith of the day, as Jesus is the sun at noon: the center of life.

3. The Ending - Do the spiritual bouquet and end with a NIGHT OFFERING. At sunset, let Jesus in the Eucharist sets in our heart.

MORNING/DAY OFFERING

First Motto

Purpose

• Thank God for another day
• Offer all things (our life) to God
• Ask for indulgences for the souls

Second Motto

2. Thiếu Nhi Thánh Thể nhiệm mầu,

Tôn sùng rước lễ, nhà chầu viếng thăm.

Purpose

• To live the day in the graces of God by being in close union with Jesus in the Eucharist, the center (the sun) of Christian life. Therefore, the peak of the Eucharist Day is the Holy Mass and the Holy Communion. **If attending daily (weekday) Mass is not possible, be in communion with the Holy Mass through midday prayers.
• To progress to sainthood through the practice of the Spiritual Bouquet.

SPIRITUAL BOUQUET

Beside the main "three moments of the day", the hours of the Eucharistic Day are marked with prayer, spiritual communion, sacrifice, apostolic works, rosary, etc., all of which a Eucharistic Youth keeps track and records in the Spiritual Bouquet.

NIGHT OFFERING

Purpose:

• Thank God for the day
• Reflection, write in spiritual journal, tally spiritual bouquet
• Reconcile with God and ask God to bless our night of sleep

PRAYERS

Morning Offering Prayer

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world. I offer them for all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart: the salvation of souls, reparation for sin, and the reunion of all Christians. I offer them for the intentions of our bishops and of all Apostles of Prayer, and in particular for those recommended by our Holy Father this month.

Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory Be

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
